A Working Kennel Built Around the Dogs.
The facility began as an old horse and field-trial barn.
Today, it is a clean, structured kennel built around professional training, boarding, daily care, and the routines the dogs need.
FROM OLD BARN TO WORKING KENNEL
The Building Already Had a Story.
I grew up beside this barn.
It had housed horses and been connected to field trials long before Drake Gun Dogs existed. Instead of replacing it with something that looked new but meant nothing, I renovated the building and gave it another purpose.
The character of the old barn is still here. Everything inside is now centered around caring for and training dogs.
Individual Kennels for Structure and Routine.
The training side currently includes individual kennels measuring approximately 5 by 5 feet.
They are designed for safe daily management, feeding, rest, and the consistent routine long-term training dogs need.
More Room for Boarding Dogs.
The boarding side includes indoor stalls measuring approximately 12 by 10 feet.
These stalls provide boarding dogs with more room to move and settle comfortably during shorter stays.

Cleanliness Is Part of the Job.
The full kennel is cleaned every morning and evening.
Messes are handled as soon as they happen. Water bowls are washed daily. Feeding bowls are cleaned after every meal. Airing yards are raked each time dogs rotate through them.
A clean kennel is not a special event before a tour. It is part of the daily routine.

Dogs are aired three to four times every day through multiple fenced airing yards.
Every dog also receives exercise at least once daily.
The whole kennel property is fenced, and movement in and out of kennels and yards is handled through a controlled routine.

Warm-weather airflow is managed through:
Exhaust fans
Oscillating fans
Ceiling fans
Floor fans
Windows
Large garage doors
Individual fan coverage at the kennels
During cold weather, the building is closed and heated.

Cameras cover the kennel, and the property is fenced.
Drop-offs, pickups, visits, and facility tours are handled by appointment so the dogs’ routine and movement through the kennel remain controlled.
Training Grounds
Approximately 60 acres directly behind the kennel are available for obedience, yard work, and daily field training.
As dogs advance, we also use thousands of additional acres, ponds, and varied training ground.
